This webinar is taking place in light of the decision made at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations in Durban, South Africa in December 2011, to formally include carbon capture and storage (CCS) into the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), providing an international incentive for the support of CCS operations in developing countries, and is a significant step forward for global CCS deployment.
The webinar will provide an overview of the outcomes of the climate change meeting held in Durban, as they relate to CCS, with a focus on the development of modalities and procedures for inclusion of CCS in the CDM.
