1. Energy Analyst – Clean Electricity Transitions, Lead Modeler

The issues highlighted in this article are related to clean electricity transitions and ensuring clean, affordable, and secure power systems during clean energy transitions. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are addressed or connected to these issues are:

  1. SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
  2. SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
  3. SDG 13: Climate Action

Targets:

  • Target 7.2: Increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.
  • Target 9.1: Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and transborder infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all.
  • Target 13.2: Integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning.

Indicators:

  • Indicator 7.2.1: Renewable energy share in the total final energy consumption.
  • Indicator 9.1.1: Proportion of the rural population who live within 2 km of an all-season road.
  • Indicator 13.2.1: Number of countries that have communicated the establishment or operationalization of an integrated policy/strategy/plan which increases their ability to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change, and foster climate resilience and low greenhouse gas emissions development in a manner that does not threaten food production.

2. Energy Analyst – Electricity, Renewables Integration and Secure Electricity (RISE) Unit

The issues highlighted in this article are also related to clean electricity transitions and ensuring clean, affordable, and secure power systems during clean energy transitions. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are addressed or connected to these issues are the same as in the previous position:
