Registration for Free Adult Education Classes Now Open

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The Literacy Council of SWLA is offering free classes for adults who want to improve their literacy skills and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The agency’s classes focus on helping individuals enhance their reading, writing, math, and spelling abilities, as well as providing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for those relocating to SWLA.

Individualized Attention and Flexible Options

The Literacy Council of SWLA ensures that each student receives individualized attention by conducting small-group style classes. These classes are available both in-person and online, with morning and evening options to accommodate different schedules and preferences.

Transportation Support

To assist with transportation needs, the Literacy Council of SWLA will provide free bus tokens to registered students. This initiative aligns with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by promoting accessible and sustainable transportation options.
