IVDM seeks volunteers for August Volunteer Day
The Imperial Valley Desert Museum is currently seeking a group of 25 volunteers for their upcoming Volunteer Day. This event provides an opportunity for individuals interested in museum work and artifact handling to participate. Volunteers will have the chance to organize photos, engage in conversations with museum staff, and learn about local history.
The Volunteer Day for this month will take place on Sunday, August 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. While it is not mandatory for volunteers to stay for the entire day, those who wish to do so are encouraged to bring their own lunch. To reserve a spot, please contact the Imperial Valley Desert Museum at (760) 358-7016 or email curation@ivdesertmuseum.org.

Weekly Adult Literacy classes announced
The Imperial Public Library has released its Weekly Adult Literacy calendar for the month of August. These classes offer adults the opportunity to learn basic computer skills such as typing, using email, and online shopping. Additionally, other classes are available for conversation practice, English language learning, and U.S. Citizenship preparation.
The schedule for the classes can be viewed on the registration form provided at forms.gle/GiYAHAxobPvCv4Zh9. All classes are free of charge and open only to adults aged 18 and above (or 16 if not enrolled in a K-12 school). For any inquiries, please call (760) 355-1332 and request the Literacy Department.
